Mohammad Youssef Kargar, the president of the Football Federation, said that after consulting with the executive committee and the technical department of the Federation, Ashley Michael Westwood, an Englishman with good experience, was chosen as the coach of the country's national football team.
Ashley Michael Westwood said in this press conference that he will do his best to lead a good team to the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Nations Cup.
He added that with the goal and motivation of winning, he will play with the national football team of Afghanistan against the national teams of Qatar and Kuwait.
